MAKE A NOISE!
The work people do to help animals, whether through a donation
or hands on work is making a difference. In fact, it's worth making
a NOISE about - which is exactly what people from around the world
will be doing during this year's World Animal Week.
Starting on the 4th October, World Animal Week is the perfect opportunity
for people to come together and raise awareness and funds for animals,
as well as promote the work of WSPA and its member societies.
Building support for animals
This global celebration is a great way to spread the word about
animals and the work being done around the world to protect them.
By creating a spotlight for animal welfare we can shout about the
positive work we've achieved whilst reaching out to the wider community
to remind them that animals do matter.
The number of people and organisations celebrating World Animal
Week has grown in recent years, creating an event that is fast becoming
a global phenomenon. With the help of our supporters we want to
see it become bigger and better - a globally recognised calendar
event that unites the world in its celebration of animals.
As Kimberly Muncaster, Regional Manager, WSPA New Zealand, said:
"Furthering animal welfare can, at times, seem like an impossible
task. But it's important to recognise that each step forward, no
matter how small, is a move in the right direction. And that's what
World Animal Week is about. Celebrating our successes, big and small,
and understanding that together, we really can make a difference."
World Animal Week is a great opportunity to have fun and make a
positive 'noise'. From dressing up as animals and collecting gold
coin donations, to cycling the length of the Pan-Americas, WSPA
supporters have gone to extreme lengths to celebrate World Animal
Week and make themselves heard. There is no limit to what you can
do, the important thing is to take part in your own special way.
Working with the Body Shop in New
Zealand
The business community have also embraced World Animal Week, and
none more so than The Body Shop in New Zealand, now in its third
year of celebrating this event.
Shelly Mansfield, Values & Communications Manager for The Body
Shop New Zealand, said: "We've worked closely with WSPA for
some time now, but our relationship has been strengthened through
incorporating World Animal Week in our programme of events and rolling
it out nationally throughout our stores. Our teams love getting
involved and doing their bit for animals. As partners of WSPA we
proudly wear our WSPA T-shirts and pull out all the stops to raise
as much awareness and funds as we can for them during this week.
The professionalism and passion of the WSPA teams sits inline with
our company values and we're happy to make as much noise as possible
for them and animals during this time".
