This is Holly and Kristin they volunteer on a regular basis at the WSPA New Zealand office. We asked them what made them decide to volunteer for WSPA:
Being raised in a vegan environment I have always been compassionate towards animals. Volunteering for WSPA allows me to do my bit for the bigger picture aiding animals in need. WSPA does a wonderful job, and even though the type of volunteer work that I do may not be hands on interacting with animals; however just knowing that the office work that I do instead is to help support the global protection of animals, is very rewarding.
I have been volunteering for WSPA for the last couple of years and will continue to do so for many more! I am a compassionate animal lover as well as a vegan, and I am proud to know that the little work that I assist with, allows more time for WSPA to focus on the important matters involving the global welfare of animals.
If you love animals and like Holly and Kristin would like to get involved then come and volunteer with our friendly team.
The WSPA New Zealand office is located in Parnell, Auckland and open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Our office is administration-based and at present we are mainly concentrating on fundraising and campaigning work. Volunteer duties include folding receipt letters, photocopying, filing, basic computer and telephone work.
For those who cannot commute to our office in Parnell we would love you to help with other important work, like go out and collect petition signatures or set up a WSPA group in your area to raise awareness of our latest campaigns.
If you would like to find out more we would love to hear from you!
Please contact Jasmine Beaumont on 09 309 3901 or 0800 500 9772.
Please note that WSPA does not have any field work or work that directly involves contact with animals available in New Zealand. If you are interested in this kind of work we suggest you contact your local branch of the RNZSPCA (Royal New Zealand Society for the prevention of Cruelty to Animals), as they may be able to suggest volunteer animal welfare groups within your area.
